Today saw us back at fabulous Deans Place Hotel in Alfriston for Adam & Emma’s wedding. We initially met Adam & Emma last year at Deans Place Hotel Wedding Fair which is always a great opportunity to meet couple as it’s such a relaxed and friendly event and when we met Adam & Emma we had plenty of time to talk about their day and what they were looking for and they book us straight away!
We started their wedding day covering Emma’s bridal preparations at Deans Place where Emma was getting ready with her three bridesmaids. The preparations were in full swing when Emma’s mum arrived to see how Emma was getting on. As soon as she arrived Emma rushed off to get her a present she had for her – Emma gave her mum a lovely hanky which was embroidered with the words “Mum, to dry your happy tears on my wedding day as you have always dried mine. Thank you for everything, love Emma” as you can imagine there wasn’t a dry eye in the room after her mum read it! Once everyone regained their composure the girls carried on with their preparations whilst we went to find Adam.
We found Adam & the rest of the guys downstairs in the bar area and headed outside for a few photos before the registrars arrived along with all their wedding guests. The wedding ceremony was being held in the Garden Suite which quickly filled with guests as we waited for Emma.
Emma didn’t keep Adam waiting for long and was soon escorted up the aisle by her brother to a nervous Adam. It was a lovely ceremony with two readings by their friends and just a few happy tears before the happy couple walked back down the aisle as husband and wife and off to their drinks reception.
Despite the weather we managed to dodge the showers and get outside for a few photos making sure everyone stayed dry. Once we’d finished the groups we managed to get some time with Adam & Emma together and get them some lovely photos for their album before everyone headed off for the wedding breakfast.
One of the amazing things about Adam & Emma and their special day was the time and effort that they’d put into the details. Rather than have flowers for the table centre pieces or chocolates or sugared almonds for the favours they had created what can only be called clay masterpieces! Every table centre piece marked an event in their life with an amazing sculpture in what I can only call a Wallace and Gromit style with place names/favours to match – you can see what I mean with the pictures. It was amazing the time and effort they’d put in.
After the wedding breakfast it was on to the speeches and in a bit of a change Emma started the speeches to thank everyone before handing over to Adam and his bestman for their speeches. Before everyone moved from the Alfriston Suite so it could be prepared for the evening festivities there was just time to cut the cake (with bride & groom ducks) and open the sweet cart for everyone.
We just managed to grab a little more time with Adam & Emma before the evening guests arrived and the party got started. We had our photobooth with us so we got that all ready before the guest made their way into the Alfriston Suite for the first dance. What a great day.
