Today’s wedding saw Ben & Jo getting married at Blackstock Barns near Hailsam although we started the day much closer to home – in fact just up the road in Seaford! We arrived at the brides mums house to a very calm bride who’d already had her hair and makeup done and was about ready to get in her dress so we got straight on with taking photos of the dress, flower and details before the bride got into her dress. After a few photos of the bride on her own and then with her family it was off to Blackstock Barn.
On arrive at Blackstock Barns we were greeted by two rather cold ushers who were sheltering from the rain and directing the guests towards the main barn which was where we headed to meet up with Ben for some photos before Jo arrived.
Everyone waited for Jo’s entrance enjoying some lovely music by the talented Fiona Hosford (The harpist). It wasn’t long before Jo made her entrance escorted up the isle by her brother to the slightly nervous Ben. After a lovely ceremony which had a bit of everything – a few laughs and a few tears it was then on to the reception for drinks and canapés.
After the group photos we waited till all the guest were seated for the wedding breakfast before taking a few moments with Ben & Jo to get them some special photos of them both for the album. Just as we were finishing the one of the bestmen appeared to talk to Ben as there was no one to announce the couple to their wedding breakfast and they weren’t sure what to do. Making sure a wedding day runs smoothly is really important to me so I was more than happy to help and stepped in and announced the couple to the wedding breakfast.
After the wedding breakfast the couple had organised an ice cream bike which served a variety of ice cream to the guests – it was big hit with everyone especially the children who visited the bike a couple of times!As the bike packed up the evening guests started arriving to join the celebrations and party on into the night. After the cutting of the cake and the first dance we left everyone to enjoy the rest of the evening.
