Joe & Hannah – Northease Manor Wedding

Today’s wedding saw Joe & Hannah getting married at the picturesque church of Bishopstone near Seaford. Over the last few months I’d got to know Joe & Hannah really well and as I met all the family at the wedding rehearsal at the church the excitement for their special day was really growing. I always try and go to the wedding rehearsal whenever I can as it’s a great opportunity to meet everyone and have a chat with the vicar to see where everyone will be on the day. It turned out that Joe & Hannah’s wedding would be the last for the current vicar as he was retiring after over 50 years! He was a real character and very easy going – Joe had even asked if rather than a religious reading if he could have a passage from lord of the rings! No one could have expected the response of “what professor Tolkien’s book why of course – he used to be a professor when I was at Oxford ” quite amazing.bishopstone churchbidesmaids at bishopstoneblack and white photos of bishopstone church weddingwedding ceremony at Bishopstone Churchbishopstone church wedding

We started our day at Saint Andrew  Church in Bishopstone where we met a rather nervous groom. We headed round the back of the church for a few quick photos of Joe & his bestman along with the very important kermit the frog before heading back to the front of the church to wait for Hannah to arrive. Hannah didn’t keep us waiting long and after a couple of quick photos with her dad it was straight into the church for the ceremony. It was a lovely ceremony and with things like their choices of readings it made it very personal to Joe & Hannah. After the ceremony we were back outside for a few photos before heading off to Northease Manor for the reception.Bishopstone Church WeddingWedding photography at bishopstone church near seafordnorthease manor wedding

All the guests had made it over to Northease Manor before Joe & Hannah arrived so they were all ready to welcome them to the reception. We grab a few quick photos with the car before moving on to do the group photos. Once we’d done the main formal photos we had a bit of fun with the boys and the bridesmaids to get a few different photos for Joe & Hannah. We finished the groups with a big photo of all the guest which Kermit managed to get in on!guests at northease manor weddingbride and groom at northease manor weddingnorthease manor wedding east sussexwedding at northease manor near lewes

Before the guests headed in for the wedding breakfast we managed to get some photos of the reception room. Circa Events who look after Northease Manor Weddings had done a great job of decorating the reception room and catering the event and Joe & Hannah had added their own special touch with lego! That’s right lego! They had made their table plan out of lego along with their centre pieces and had even left little caches of lego on the tables for guest to play with which proved very popular with guest of all ages! After the wedding breakfast it was on to the speeches which started with Hannah’s dad who was followed by Joe’s dad in two emotional speeches. It was then on to Joe who was followed by his brother and then his best man for quite a few laughs and a few damp eyes which were followed by a very big and much deserved round of applause.east sussex wedding photographer

After the wedding breakfast we move over to the marquee for Joe & Hannah to cut their Disney themed cake which had been made for them  by one of their friends. It was a lovely evening and guests were able to enjoy the late afternoon sun as the reception room was changed round ready for the evening reception.  It wasn’t long before we all headed inside for the first dance and for the evening celebrations to start. Just before we left we managed to get a couple of photos of Joe & Hannah outside the barn -a great finish to their album and wedding day.first dance at northease manor
