It was a bit of a wet and windy start for today’s wedding in Alfriston. Fortunately the rain stopped and although it was quite windy it was a nice fresh December day. We started today’s coverage at Dean’s Place where Hayley the bride was getting ready although she was so eager to get going she was already in her dress and all ready to go when we arrived! So after a few quick photos we went off to the church to catch-up with the men and see the honour guard practicing before the wedding along with the doves being put in place ready for their release after the wedding.
As it was December the church was decorated for Christmas with a big tree which was a lovely touch – as it was quite windy all the guest made their way inside and got seated to wait for the brides arrival.
Hayley didn’t keep everyone waiting long and you can even see from the time on the church clock as she’s walking down the aisle she was bang on 1pm! and that was despite a moment with her veil in the wind outside the church.
After a lovely ceremony we nipped out of the church to be in place ready for the honour guard and Phil & Hayley’s exit. The guys did a great job despite having the steps to negotiate and Phil & Hayley exiting before heading back on the steps to release a dove each.
After a few photos at the church which included poor Aiden my assistant had to run round after Hayley’s veil which got blown off for the second time of the day – it was off to Dean’s Place for the rest of Phil & Hayley’s special day.
Phil & Hayley went for a white and silver theme in the Alfriston suite with lots of fairy lights and drapes which worked really well. Their cake was also very wintery and was decorated with snow flakes and white Christmas trees – finished off with two miniatures of the bride & groom on top! As ever the amazing staff at Dean’s Place did a great job looking after everyone and making sure the day ran smoothly and following the wedding breakfast and speeches the room was quickly turned round ready for the evening celebrations.
A lovely wedding and I wish Phil & Hayley every happiness for the future.
